RF & AM EAS Anti-Theft Systems
Detection gates, security tags and checkout deactivation for supermarkets, pharmacies, fashion and general retail. We survey, install, source-tag and support RF (8.2 MHz) and AM (58 kHz) electronic article surveillance across Kenya.

How EAS Anti-Theft Systems Work
Tagging: merchandise is fitted with a hard tag or an adhesive label. Hard tags are reusable and removed at the till with a detacher; labels are disposable and deactivated at the counter.
Detection zone: a transmitter pedestal at the exit creates a surveillance field. RF systems sweep around 8.2 MHz; AM systems pulse at 58 kHz, which tolerates metal shelving and refrigeration far better.
Alarm: an active tag entering the field resonates and is picked up by the receiver pedestal, triggering an audible and visual alarm within the aisle.
Deactivation: at the point of sale the label is neutralised by a counter pad, or the hard tag is unlocked with a magnetic detacher — so paid items pass through silently.
System Capabilities
RF Detection Gates (8.2 MHz)
The most widely deployed EAS technology — lowest cost, widest tag choice, aisle coverage up to 1.8 m. Acrylic, aluminium or concealed floor designs.
AM Detection Gates (58 kHz)
Acousto-magnetic pedestals for wide entrances up to 2.4 m and near-zero false alarms, even beside metal fixtures, fridges and foil packaging.
Security Tags & Labels
Pencil tags, super tags, ink benefit-denial tags, bottle tags, spider wraps and adhesive soft labels — matched to each product category.
Detachers & Deactivators
Countertop and in-counter deactivation pads, magnetic and mechanical detachers, and handheld units for fitting rooms.
POS Integration
Deactivation pads wired to the checkout so tags are neutralised automatically on barcode scan, with exception reporting for missed items.
Source Tagging
We help set up source-tagging with your suppliers so high-volume lines arrive protected — no in-store tagging labour.
Benefits of Automation
- Retailers typically see a 50–70% drop in shrinkage within the first year.
- Visible gates and tags deter theft on sight — the alarm catches what deterrence misses.
- AM tolerates metal shelving, fridges and foil packaging that defeat cheaper systems.
- POS-linked deactivation keeps checkout fast and cuts false alarms from paid stock.
- Reusable hard tags bring the cost per protected item down over time.
- Alarm logs show high-risk hours and product categories for targeted action.
