    Technical Overview

    How RFID-EAS Works

Item-level tagging: each product carries a UHF RFID tag with a unique EPC code — as an inlay, hang tag, woven label or hard tag.

Point of sale: when an item is paid for, its EPC is marked as sold in the system. Unsold EPCs remain 'live'.

Exit reading: gate antennas read every tag passing through and check each EPC against the sold list. A live tag triggers the alarm.

Inventory: the same tags power cycle counts with a handheld reader — a full stocktake in a fraction of the time, plus continuous shelf-availability and shrink analytics.

    Key Features

    System Capabilities

    RFID Exit Gates

UHF 865–868 MHz antennas that read multiple tags at once and distinguish sold from unsold stock in real time.

    Handheld Readers

Cycle-count an entire department in minutes, locate specific items, and run receiving and dispatch checks.

    Item-Level Inventory

Live stock-on-hand by SKU and location, with automatic low-stock and out-of-shelf alerts.

    Loss & Shrink Analytics

Dashboards correlate exit alarms with POS data to pinpoint shrink by category, time and store.

    Omnichannel Support

Accurate stock data underpins click-and-collect, ship-from-store and endless-aisle fulfilment.

    Tag Options

RFID inlays, adhesive labels, hang tags, woven care labels, hard tags and shelf-edge labels.

    Advantages

    Benefits of Automation

    • One tag does two jobs — theft detection at the door and inventory tracking on the floor.
    • Inventory accuracy typically rises from ~65% to 98%+ after roll-out.
    • Cycle counts that took days take hours, so they happen weekly instead of quarterly.
    • Shelf availability improves, cutting lost sales from items that are in the stockroom but not on display.
    • Shrink analytics turn exit alarms into an action list, not just noise.
    • Accurate stock is the foundation for click-and-collect and ship-from-store.
